Date: Tuesday, February 7, 2012
Time: 9:30–10:15 a.m.
Speaker: Steve Lee; Steve Lee Associates

The presentation will present data on the global footwear market looking at the situation in 2010, then back to 1994 and out to 2024, so covering 30 years. The initial focus will be on capturing the global footwear production, import, export and consumption, split by the 6 major countries (either for production or consumption) – China, India, Brazil, Vietnam, Nigeria and USA plus the six remaining regions Europe, Rest of N America, Rest S America, Rest Asia, Middle East and the Rest of Africa. Data will also be presented on two of the key drivers of consumption – population and income – and references made to some of the other drivers. This broad introduction will then set the scene for a full definition and outline of the major 11 soling materials and how much of each are used in the above countries and regions and how they change over time. Thus by the end of the presentation the whole dynamics of the footwear industry will have been examined in detail over a period of 30 years.
